WIRELESS ROBOTIC ARM.
Robotic arm is now becoming apart of our daily life and performing everyday tasks much more efficiently and smartly. Wireless Robotic Arm, as a branch of engineering deals with the design, construction, operation, and application of robots. Their mobility as efficient as the control signal. Humans can perform highly precise tasks without much effort. This project aims at giving the same mobility to a robotic arm so that it can perform tasks precisely in an environment not accessible or suitable for humans, remotely using very simple potentiometers as sensors and Atmel ATmega32 microcontroller.
DESIGN OF THE ROBOTIC ARM;-
The wireless robotic arm mainly consists of Atmel ATmega32 microcontroller and potentiometers as a controlling device. The actuators are 9vDC motor. The whole system works on the principle of interfacing the potentiometer with microcontroller processing the signal from the potentiometer and giving output to motors so as to move the mechanical arm. The motors are interfaced with the help of wireless circuit (RF).
It consists of a wireless RF transmitter and RF receiver. Potentiometers are fixed to a wearable remote control. Potentiometer moves when remote moves. The potentiometer converts the mechanical motion into electrical motion. Hence, on the motion of the remote, the potentiometers produce the electrical pulses, which then route to a microcontroller. The pulse is the analog signal which needs to be converted to digital signal so that it can work according to programming. For this, the onboard ADC (Analogue to Digital Converter) of Atmega32 microcontroller is used.
HOW DOES A ROBOTIC ARM WORK?
A typical robotic arm is made up of seven metal segments, joined by six joints. The computer controls the robot by rotating individual step motors connected to each joint (some larger arms use hydraulics or pneumatics). The robot uses motion sensors to make sure it moves just the right amount.
WHAT ARE THE COMPONENT OF ROBOTIC ARM?
The ARM is the main section of the robotic arm and consists of three parts: the shoulder, elbow, and wrist. These are all joints, with the shoulder resting at the base of the arm, typically connected to the controller, and it can move forward, backward or spin.
HOW MUCH FASTER ARE ROBOTS THAN HUMANS?
This bricklaying robot works five times faster than a human
According to Construction Robotics, the bot can place between 300 and 400 bricks an hour, compared to a human which can only lay around 60 to 75 bricks an hour.
WHY ARE ROBOTS IMPORTANT?
Robots in manufacturing help to create jobs by restoring more manufacturing work. Robots protect workers from repetitive, mundane and dangerous tasks, while also creating more desirable jobs, like engineering, programming, management, and equipment maintenance.
WHAT IS DIFFERENT BETWEEN ROBOTS AND HUMAN?
Although robots are said to show complex processes or operations, humans are far more advanced, in the sense that they have a highly developed brain that no robot has ever matched up to. The human brain makes us powerful, creative and inventive beings, in almost all aspects.
ADVANTAGES OF ROBOT HANDLING ARM
The benefits of robots have increased their flexibility by being capable of performing a variety of tasks and applications. They are more precise and consistent than human workers. Robots also allow for increased production and profit margins because they can complete tasks faster.
DISADVANTAGES OF ROBOT HANDLING ARM
But in retrospect, giving robots too much access to our daily lives could lead to disaster worldwide. There are three major points that can be considered the leading disadvantages of the usage of robots. First, robotics cannot respond in times of danger as humans can.
CONCLUSION;-
I hope that you enjoyed this robotic arm unit. Not only did you apply math and science to your project, but you also learned the importance of shop safety and working together with your teammates. Each teammate had a job to do. Engineers were in charge of the final design and oversight of building your robot arm. Accountants were in charge of your business expenses. Finally, Project Directors were in charge of your teams’ public affairs and overall completion of your project. Hopefully, you were able to see how there is more to just having the best design. Working together as a team is just as important in accomplishing the different challenges you may face in your life. I hope that you will be able to apply the methods and ideas from this project in your day to day lives.
