Edge and Crack Detector Robots:

The Edge and Crack Detector Robots are to design a robot that is capable of detecting the edges and the endpoints if it is moving on height. This is an Automated Robot, which senses the cracks and edges over the surface where it’s running, for sensing such surfaces it requires a sensing device, which is provided by IR sensor. In this kit after sensing the object by the robot, the signal is then sent to the microcontroller of the 8051 families which is controlled through the program.

In the Edge and crack detector robots projects, To operate this robot, you have to press the buttons that are provided on the robot. As soon as it will be pressed the robot will start moving in the forward direction. The idea behind edge detection is that, if any edge comes in the path of the robot, the transmitted signal from the robot will not be further be received and it will recognize that there is an edge. The corresponding measures are taken and the robot will take a turn in a predefined direction. Hence the robot will keep on moving to avoid any edge with the help of the H- Bridge motor driver circuit which will eventually drive the motors attached to the Robot.
