Travelers frequently face problems of waiting long hours at the bus stop without knowing when the next bus will arrive or without getting enough information about the bus coming/leaving from the bus station. This is because buses are not traced when they are on route. This has caused huge inconvenience to passengers traveling by buses. If we could track the buses at several locations, then we can predict the arrival time of buses and hence, the waiting time of the passengers will be reduced. In the project on route bus tracking system, we can track the bus at any location by receiving this id. For further improvement, we can integrate all the collected data from different locations and make a database of it. Any user can track any bus if we connect the database with the internet. Thus we can save much of the precious time of passenger and their efforts.

In the project on Route Bus Tracking & Identification System here, we have developed an RF transmitter using the HT12D IC and each bus issue different IDs. Every bus enables our ID when the bus reaches the range of receiver end and tracks this id and sends information to the PC and finally saved this information.

Future Scope of Automatic on Route Bus Tracking & Identification System:

For future enhancement, We can develop a vehicle monitoring system using GPS & GSM modules with the high-speed processor. The system will have the latest technology and optimized algorithm with moderate cost. The system may focus on accurate arrival time prediction and real-time position of the vehicle. The system can be installed in buses, cars, and trucks this project is having a wide scope. A web-based application which can be further modified using the cloud. The use of video cameras to this system would take this system to the next level in the field of security. It will help to monitor the crimes that happen nowadays which is witnessed by common people every day. This would prove a breakthrough in reducing crime rates. Also, with the use of motion sensors the speed of the bus can be calculated presently only SMS feature is available, we can include the Call feature for ease of operation. The microphone can be induced in the GSM module so that during theft activity, voice can be recorded on the bus for evidence purposes.

Conclusion:

The conclusion of this study suggests that knowledge of a specific domain improves the results. Also, different attributes have been added to the project which will prove to be advantageous to the system. The requirements and specifications have been listed above. This project is implemented using Android and the SQL domain. Using the GPS, the application will automatically display the buses on the map and its routes to the different locations and also track the bus location using client-server technology and forward it to the client device. Specific location details are provided to the user along with the bus location so that the person can identify the bus correctly. It uses a remote server as its database. Due to this, the records can be easily presented on the client‟s device itself so that the server burden gets reduced.
